Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come. Rabindranath Tagore

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Noah Sams who was born in United States on August 31, 1996 and passed away on July 25, 2015. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Noah Cornell Sams, age 18, died at the Cleveland Clinic on Saturday, July 25, 2015.

The son of Marlo Sams and Kari (Lawton) Rhodes, he was born on August 31, 1996, in Painesville, Ohio, and had remained a lifelong area resident. Noah had attended Lakeside High and had recently graduated from Painesville Harvey High School and was attending Kent State University

Noah enjoyed sports, and was active in baseball, basketball, football and wrestling. He was always drawn to the water, whether it was fishing, jet skiing or just hanging with his many friends. Evening with his friends and sitting around the bonfire were some of his favorite activities.

Noah had an infectious smile and seeing him smile seemed to make your day a little brighter. A giving person in life and now in death Noah donated his organs to those in need. Noah will live on in those lives of persons he never knew, but whose families now have hope for the future.

Unfortunately, Noah left us due to addiction. He wanted to become clean and sober and to tell others of his problems and those of his sister, Deandra, who also left due to addictions. Theirs is a story that no family should ever know.

Noah is survived by his parents, Nick and Kari Rhodes, Marlo Sams and Jennifer Nason; siblings, Chad Lawton, Shayla Rhodes, Kami Rhodes, Lauren Sams, Debbie Sams, Reggie Browley, and Makenna Sams; and grandparents, Linda and Ken Fenslage, Felicitas and Robert Paige, Jay Sams and Robin Rhodes.

Noah was preceded in death by his sister, Deandra Sams on Jan. 25, 2014; and his grandfather, Lynn Lawton.
